Out On The Town

This was taken after Hugs became an AKC Champion at the Silver Bay Kennel Club in Del Mar, CA. (Feb.2006)

This was Hugs first Best Of Breed win and she was just a puppy- Bahia Sur Kennel Club, 2005

Taranis after winning Best of Opposite Sex (to Hugs), he went on to beat her the next day and win Best of Breed under a different judge. (The only time he has ever beaten her- Maybe because I was handling him against my wife? LOL)

We have had great fun traveling to shows around Southern California, but showing is not for everyone. You can also participate in obedience, agility, search and rescue or many other activities with your IW, even therapy! My favorite is Lure Coursing, more on that later. (There is a great article on Dixie's web-site about coursing...)

All our hounds are "House hounds" and we would not have it any other way!

Above is the whole Keller Irish Wolfhound gang at the Bahia Sur Kennel Club show a few years ago. (Mom and daughter and Dad and son). "T", has matured quite a bit since this picture...

"T" and I DID beat the girls one of the two days but it was not because of my handling! The second the judge gave me the breed over Hugs and my wife she told my wife that SHE should handle "T" in the Hound Group. I agreed that I should only be used as a handler in an extreme emergency- My main skill, if you can call it that, is to carry stuff and maintain our website. :)
